Welcome to Frant Road Safety – a community-led initiative dedicated to implementing traffic calming measures to transform Frant Road, and its surrounding streets, into a safer place for everyone.
Nestled in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, Frant Road is more than just a thoroughfare; it's where our children wait for their school bus, or walk to school, where our families live, and where our local businesses thrive.
Yet, recent times have seen a disturbing rise in traffic-related incidents.

Our campaign was born from concern and unity within our community regarding speeding that is ruining our quality of life.
Following a series of accidents and close calls, exacerbated by increased traffic and speeding vehicles, we knew it was time to act.
Frant Road, home to schools, churches, and businesses, should be a safe haven, not a hazard.
We're here to ensure it becomes just that!
Safety for All
We're rallying for crucial traffic calming measures on Frant Road. Our proposals include enforcing the 30 mph zone on Frant Road, installing speed cameras, and considering physical interventions like signage, mini roundabouts and speed humps. We would like to see feeder side streets, like Birling Road, Bayham Road and Broadwater Down, amongst others, reduced to 20 mph zones. These changes are vital for protecting our children, pedestrians, and the elderly, and for preserving the residential nature of our beloved street
